Equine Dental Care - Dentistry LAB

This lab will focus on dental maintenance, equilibration and the instruments and techniques that can be utilized to maintain the horses’ dentition. Included will be a brief demonstration of the common procedures used to correct and prevent the re-development of cheek teeth and incisors malocclusions, as well as applying bit seats and addressing canine teeth. The participants will have the opportunity to work with a variety of instruments and perform various odontoplastic procedures on cadavers.

Scott Greene DVM

Dr. Scott Greene grew up in the Reno-Sparks area and graduated from UNR with a B.S. in Animal Science in 1982. Following graduation from the Ohio State University in 1988, he established Equine Veterinary Care of Nevada. Dr. Greene began developing instruments and techniques for use in motorized dentistry in the early 90's, and has taught at veterinary schools and conferences nationwide, focusing on educating practitioners as to "complete, conservative and proper dental care".
