In many practices, a large amount of revenue is lost through discounting and/or missed charges. Discounts are usually deliberate; either the practice or an individual decides to charge less for a particular reason. On the other hand, missed charges are inadvertent; someone just forgot to charge for a service or product. Regardless of the cause, capturing this revenue can make a big difference to the bottom line.
