Module 2: Role of Agencies in Health Certificates

Reviews the State, Federal, and international agencies an accredited veterinarian may interact with and the services these agencies provide. Participants learn how to accurately complete health certificates for animals traveling domestically or internationally. Guidelines for the completion of 11 USDA APHIS and VS Forms and their continuation sheets are provided.

Amanda White DVM, MVPM, DACVPM

Amanda White is a Port Veterinary Medical Officer at the Los Angeles Animal Import Center (USDA-APHIS-VS-NIES). She received her DVM (2006) and MPVM (2009) degrees from UC Davis, and completed an agricultural animal internship (Washington State University), a zoological medicine residency (UC Davis, San Diego Zoo Global), and worked in small animal/exotic and emergency practice before joining USDA-APHIS-VS. She is a diplomate in veterinary preventive medicine, and special interests include One Health and aquatic medicine.
