Module 2: Role of Agencies in Health Certificates

Reviews the State, Federal, and international agencies an accredited veterinarian may interact with and the services these agencies provide. Participants learn how to accurately complete health certificates for animals traveling domestically or internationally. Guidelines for the completion of 11 USDA APHIS and VS Forms and their continuation sheets are provided.

Sara Kaman DVM

Dr. Sara Kaman is a Senior Staff Veterinarian in USDA, APHIS, Veterinary Services, National Import Export Services. She develops international animal health trade policy and works with foreign animal health officials and domestic industry representatives to expand market access for U.S. animals and genetics. Dr. Kaman earned a BA at Wellesley College in 1977, and attended the Bryn Mawr College Postbaccalaureate Premedical Program from 1984-1986. She earned her DVM at Tufts University in 1990.
